Contact lenses making my eyes super red?

Ok so I've been wearing contacts for about 3 1/2 years now. Every morning when I wake up my eyes are literally bloodshot. So then I put regular redness reliever eye drops in and gets better but only a little. Afterwards I put my contacts in and then I put on my eyeliner & mascara. By the time I get to school my eyes are bloodshot again. I've been to my eye doctor & he said it was keratitis & he gave me some eye drops and said it would get better. Now its been 2 months & my eye is the same away. I don't wanna keep going to the doctor's because I've been there numerous times before. So does anyone know what it could be & what I could do? I do have severe allergies; could that be apart of it?
