Looking for a place to visit in Europe.?

My mom and I just came back from a trip to Italy. We went to Siena and it was really peaceful, cultured, and beautiful there. We want to go back to Europe but we don't know where. We are looking for a peaceful place like Siena, but not a big tourist town because in tourist towns we don't really get the full culture of the area. We want a town with some fashion and a lot of shopping, and we don't really care if the area has a lot of history because we aren't into seeing ancient monuments. Any ideas?
