Should we count rings to determine a player greatness?

If this question about non contributors getting a ring then the answer is simple. But if your talking about who is better Duncan or Malone then the answer is simpler Duncan, why? Because he has 4 rings. So players a judged by their rings, it why the play the game. Everyone plays for a purpose and the goal is to win a championship let's not make the statement dumb by saying okay, then Samaki Walker is better than Malone or Barkley because he has 3 rings. We all know Malone and Barkley are great players but to be considered one of the greatest you have to have a ring.
